  2. Choose a registered agent. Colorado requires an agent with a physical Colorado address. You can act as your own agent if you live in Colorado.
  3. File Articles of Organization online. File on the Colorado Secretary of State website and pay $50. Colorado only accepts online filings for new LLCs.
  4. File a statement of trade name if needed. If your business will use a name other than the LLC’s legal name, register it as a trade name.

Colorado Periodic Report

Colorado’s yearly filing is called a periodic report. It confirms your address and registered agent. You can file it any time in a five-month window: two months before your anniversary month, the month itself, and two months after. File late and you pay a $50 late fee. If you keep missing it, the state marks your LLC delinquent.

We track your window and remind you when it opens.
